Save the date for this Wine & Lecture about the history of Irving J. Gill's sacred architecture! Amongst Coronado’s fine collection of churches are two designed by Irving J. Gill. This lecture will examine these two churches in the context of Gill’s other sacred work. Particular attention will be paid to the controversy surrounding Gill’s involvement with Sacred Heart, Roman Catholic church.

About the Speaker: 

Mark Hargreaves is an Episcopal priest, currently serving as Rector of St James by-the-Sea in La Jolla, California. Before moving to America in 2016, he was a priest in Notting Hill, London. Mark graduated from the University of Oxford with honors and then completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge. He has a life-long interest in the visual arts which led him to do a Master’s degree at the National Gallery and Kings College in London on the topic of Christianity and the Arts
