The Coronado Historical Association invites you to join us for this special Uprooted: The Story of the Japanese Americans of Coronado exhibit event, where Write Out Loud, a local performing arts group, will be sharing a story about the incarceration of Japanese-Americans during World War II. In 1942, 120,000 people of Japanese descent were forcibly removed from their homes and incarcerated by the U.S. Government. Write Out Loud's story will be told from a personal perspective based on these historical events, presented in the Kamishibai storytelling form, a traditional form of Japanese street theatre in the form of picture card storytelling.

Important Registration Information: Attendance is restricted to fully vaccinated persons and masks will be required during the California Department of Health mask mandate. Capacity is limited and reservations are required. No walk-ins will be admitted.
