From the Archive: Coronado High School Music Masters scrapbook c. 1958-1960

Our featured scrapbook today is the Coronado High School Music Masters Scrapbook from 1958. The CHS Music Masters, also known as the Modern Music Masters, was an honorary club established by the National Music Honor Society that was for students not only interested in music, but also for students who had done solo or ensemble work in the field of music. This scrapbook was recently digitized thanks to the California Revealed project through the California State Library.

We may be well into fall, but the seasons haven’t stopped Islanders from getting out! This week’s scrapbook features the Coronado High School Class of 1941's 35th school reunion. The group can be seen having their party near Central Beach in Coronado. The scrapbook was recently digitized thanks to the California Revealed project through the California State Library.

Considering Coronado’s history with the US military, it's no wonder the Fourth of July is Coronado’s biggest holiday! Here, photos of the 1983 Coronado Fourth of July parade remind us of how important the parade is to the festivities of the Fourth, as well as illustrate how popular it is, making it one of the most highly attended events in Coronado annually.
