Candidate Bios

Officer Candidates

Sally Perley, President

Sally’s family moved to Coronado in 1971, settling into the first of the many Shores condominium buildings yet to be built. In fact, when her mom called to find out where to send their rising 2nd grader, the Coronado school system had not yet had a child come from the Shores so she was the first! She attended Central School, Glorietta, Francis Parker, and CHS where she developed a love of history from Ron Jones, her history teacher. Sally pursued a history degree at UCSB and got her teaching credential. She has taught high school, preschool and elementary school. She received a Masters in Education from Georgia State University and gained an Orton Gillingham Associate Level certification. For 9 years Sally was a 3rd and 4th grade teacher for The Schenck School, a school for dyslexia, in Atlanta, Georgia. She currently tutors several children online every morning and feels it’s a great way to start her day! Her husband, Jamie, also grew up in Coronado - his parents and grandparents lived and had businesses here on the island. In fact, two items from his grandfather’s “Coronado Pharmacy” now reside in the CHA museum (the safe and the telephone booth). After living in Atlanta, Georgia for almost 25 years, in 2019, they made the move back to Coronado.

Clay Shinn, Vice President

A local Coronadan and CHS graduate, Clay Shinn obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at San Diego. Clay's field of study included Math/Computer Science as well as Economics. After a long career as a software engineer, in 2010, Clay became the CEO of i2a Solutions Inc., and in 2011, he became the CEO of TripBucket.

Anne Wilcoxon, Treasurer

Anne grew up in Coronado in the 60’s. She attended Coronado Public School until the 8th grade when her father was transferred to the Bay Area. Anne stayed in the Bay Area until her husband, Rick built their Coronado home in 2016. Coronado’s history is very important to her. Her great grandparents, Adolph and Mary Bruske along with her grandmother, Lena, came to Coronado around 1910 from Chicago. They along with Lena’s husband Harry Omar owned and operated the Coronado Dry Goods store, with locations in Tent City and Orange/C Avenue until 1929. They also built and owned 8 houses on the block of Palm and E Avenue (between 5th and 6th streets). Anne’s mother, Mary Omar was born at their home at 546 Palm in 1922. Mary graduated from Coronado High School, class of 1940. Anne’s mother and her father, Richard Gifford met at San Diego State. Richard’s stepfather was Edwin A. Wadsworth, the architect of the Coronado Band Stand in Spreckels Park. Anne has a CPA certificate (inactive) and worked for several companies in the Bay Area, including serving as the CFO and director of a major mortgage banking firm. She retired from the finance department of the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders in 2021. Rick and Anne have two sons, Dan and Tommy. Dan and his wife, Mary are both structural engineers with two daughters, Louisa(3) and Claire(1) living in Boston. Tommy and his wife, Alison are also in Boston. Tommy is an Orthopaedic Surgical Resident at Harvard. Alison is a Physician Assistant at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Robin Siara, Secretary

Robin is a native southern Californian. She came to Coronado 40 years ago to honeymoon at the Hotel Del and said, "Coronado is where I want to live." She and her husband vacationed here each year and bought a home in 2009. Robin joined Coronado Historical Association in 2016. She became a docent leading the Coronado Historical walking tours. She is also involved with the Education Committee at CHA. Robin's love for education stems from a 28-year career as a teacher and assistant athletic director in California's Community College system. Robin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science degree from Azuza Pacific University. Robin enjoys playing tennis and has volunteered at Coronado's Sharp Hospital COVID vaccine clinic. Robin and her husband Ted have two grown sons and two wonderful granddaughters.

Kathy’s deep roots in Coronado fuel her passion for the community’s unique heritage. She is a class of 1977 CHS alumna and an active member of the Rotary Club of Coronado. Lindsay Stanton

Lindsay Stanton is a Coronado native with deep roots in the community and a lifelong commitment to preserving the island's history and character. A Coronado High School graduate (Class of 2000, Salutatorian), she and her husband restored her childhood home on Coronado, nominated for the GEM Award and featured on the 2026 Historic Home Tour.

In her professional life, Lindsay is a culture and transformation executive with 20+ years of experience at Google and Atlassian, where she has led global teams of 100+, managed multi-million dollar budgets, and built programs from the ground up that delivered lasting results — including a flagship executive experience program that generated an average 22% YoY revenue lift for participating companies. Earlier in her career, she founded and sold a profitable SaaS (Software as a Service) company, and later designed a graduate leadership course adopted as required curriculum at USC Annenberg.

She is eager to bring that same combination of strategic thinking and operational follow-through to the Coronado Historical Association — an organization whose mission she has lived personally, from childhood through restoration.
