Celebrate community, history, art, and patriotism with the Coronado Historical Association and the Coronado Community Foundation!
Join us for a festive evening reception honoring America250 and celebrating CHA's Flag Mural Project. Enjoy inspiring patriotic music performed by Westwind Brass while mingling with friends and neighbors over complimentary drinks and light bites.
CHA's Flag Mural Project was funded through the Coronado Community Foundation's Fall 2025 Arts & Culture Grant Program, which invested in projects that celebrate creativity, inspire learning, and strengthen Coronado's cultural landscape. Composed of over 200 hand-painted tiles created by Coronado residents, the mural represents a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and organizations, and celebrates the many individuals and groups that contribute to community life. Participants included many local organizations as well as individual residents and community leaders, including representatives of local government, the military, civic organizations, public safety, education, and faith-based communities. Together the tiles form a visual representation of the values of America as well as the relationships and shared experiences that make Coronado unique. The mural also reflects a central theme of both the exhibit and the broader America250 commemoration: history is not only something we inherit but something we continue to create.
Come raise a glass as we salute our nation's past and celebrate our shared community. All are welcome! Admission is free!

Westwind Brass is a professional brass chamber ensemble in residence at San Diego State University, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026. Since 1986, the ensemble has brought high-caliber brass chamber music to audiences across San Diego through free public concerts, school and youth outreach, and veteran and community programming.
For this performance, audiences can expect a lively, accessible program that draws on the classical brass chamber repertoire alongside jazz- and Latin-influenced arrangements and popular tunes reimagined for brass — the kind of mix that appeals to longtime concertgoers and first-time listeners alike. All performing musicians are professional members of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) Local 325, San Diego’s musicians' union, reflecting Westwind Brass’s commitment to fair labor standards and to the professional music community that sustains San Diego’s cultural life.
