Help Preserve Coronado’s History

Do you have photographs tucked away in an album, an old program in a box, or documents and memorabilia that tell a story about Coronado? Now is the time to share them!

Join us on one of our Public Collecting Days as we gather materials for two important Coronado history initiatives: The History of Coronado Water Polo and 100 Years of Healthcare in Coronado.

We invite community members to bring in items that help document the people, places, events, traditions, and experiences that have shaped these important parts of Coronado’s history.

Help us capture the rich history of water polo in Coronado, from players and coaches to teams, championships, and memorable moments.

Types of things we are seeking:

• Team and individual photographs

• Game and tournament programs

• Team rosters and schedules

• Trophies, medals, and awards

• Water polo caps, uniforms, equipment, and team apparel

• Score sheets, records, and team documents

• Films and videos of games

• Personal stories and memories from players, coaches, families, and fans

Help us document a century of healthcare and the people who have cared for Coronado’s community.

Types of things we are seeking:

• Photographs of the hospital over time, especially when it was located at 1111 Orange Avenue

• Photographs or information regarding clinics and medical offices

• Images of doctors, nurses, staff, patients, and community health events

• Hospital and clinic programs, brochures, newsletters, and publications

• Medical office documents and other historical records

• Historic medical equipment and instruments

• Doctor and nurse uniforms, badges, and other memorabilia

• Pharmacy items, medical supplies, and healthcare-related objects

• Health fair, vaccination, blood drive, and public health materials

• Films and video of hospital-related activities

• Personal stories and memories about healthcare in Coronado

Every Item Has a Story

You don't need to have a rare or valuable artifact to make a contribution. Everyday items and personal keepsakes can provide important clues about Coronado's past. Donate these materials to the museum collection or loan them to be documented and returned to you.

Bring what you have, even if you're not sure whether it is historically significant. Our collecting team will be happy to look at your materials and discuss how they might contribute to these collections.
