How are we helping the community? By connecting people!

At the Coronado Historical Association, we see it as our duty to help keep the community connected to it's past, present, and future. Read below to be informed of different updates from around the community.

Help us preserve our present for future generations by our community collecting initiative.

As the primary organization that documents our history, CHA is committed to collecting and archiving this moment in Coronado's history. CHA asks that you share your stories and experiences: How are you adapting? Do you have examples of how our community is coming together? What are you doing to keep yourself occupied at home? Write or send pictures of your story or experience to us by using the form through the link below, by emailing CHA at info@coronadohistory.org, or drop us a line on Facebook!

Stay involved! City Meetings to Resume.

The City plans to resume certain commission meetings in the coming weeks that will be held virtually. The City added a third meeting. The Historic Resource Commission will hold its next meeting on April 15. The other two are the April 14 Planning Commission meeting and April 22 Design Review Commission meeting. Commissioners will connect using an internet-based meeting app and none is expected to physically attend. The meeting agendas will be posted as they normally are, and members of the public are encouraged to comment in advance. The meetings are subject to cancellation depending on COVID-19.

The April 7 City Council meeting will be held as planned at City Hall, 1825 Strand Way. Click the link below for a link to the agenda and information on how to comment in advance.

City Council April Agenda HERE.

At their meeting on April 7th, City Council will review the appeal of the Historic Resource Commission Decision for the property at 1113 Adella Avenue. The HRC determined that the property met two of the historic designation criteria and was designated as a Historic Resource.

CHA will continue to update you on the HRC agendas and meeting notices as they are announced. CHA believes that Coronado's heritage resources benefit when the community and its leaders are informed about what's happening on the island!
