To end 2021, this week we will feature a scrapbook that belonged to Vincent F. Lovejoy. It includes photographs and doodles documenting the travels of Lovejoy on the USS Pueblo in 1917 and USS Koningin der Nederlanden in 1918-1919 (during World War I). The scrapbook also includes Lovejoy family photographs, including outings around Southern California in the late 1910s. The Lovejoy family lived in Coronado and the scrapbook also features photos of their hometown, including the Hotel del Coronado, Tent City, and naval aviation on North Island.This scrapbook was recently digitized thanks to the California Revealed project through the California State Library.
