From the Archive: Tom Hartland Scrapbook

This scrapbook is of Coronado High School football player Tom Hartland, dating from 1916 to 1927. It includes photos of Coronado High School, North Island, and his travels throughout Southern California including a local boy scout trip to Mission Valley in 1916. The scrapbook even includes photographs of President Wilson's 1919 trip to San Diego. In the image shown here, a tag from the Coronado High School Football Banquet 1920 can be seen, dating to just over 100 years ago! This scrapbook was recently digitized thanks to the California Revealed project through the California State Library.

From the Archive: Coronado High School Music Masters scrapbook c. 1958-1960

Our featured scrapbook today is the Coronado High School Music Masters Scrapbook from 1958. The CHS Music Masters, also known as the Modern Music Masters, was an honorary club established by the National Music Honor Society that was for students not only interested in music, but also for students who had done solo or ensemble work in the field of music. This scrapbook was recently digitized thanks to the California Revealed project through the California State Library.

We may be well into fall, but the seasons haven’t stopped Islanders from getting out! This week’s scrapbook features the Coronado High School Class of 1941's 35th school reunion.
