From the Archive: 4th of July Parade Scrapbook 1983

Considering Coronado’s history with the US military, it's no wonder the Fourth of July is Coronado’s biggest holiday! Here, photos of the 1983 Coronado Fourth of July parade remind us of how important the parade is to the festivities of the Fourth, as well as illustrate how popular it is, making it one of the most highly attended events in Coronado annually. The scrapbook was recently digitized thanks to the California Revealed project through the California State Library.

The Coronado Woman’s Club has been a vital part of the Coronado community since 1947. In this week’s scrapbook, the programs and partnerships of the Woman’s Club of Coronado from 1953-54 are featured. Photos, news clippings and memorabilia from their activities let us look into the past.
