Wine & Lecture: Coronado's Empire Builder John D. Spreckels
The Coronado Historical Association was honored to host historian, Dr. Sandra Bonura, on December 3, 2020 for a special virtual Wine & Lecture. Dr. Bonura shared the stories behind the man and the legacy of John D. Spreckels. This empire-builder helped develop Coronado into a thriving resort town after careers in sugar, shipping, and transportation. Revered, but not without controversy, his legacy is in Coronado's cultural heritage and architectural remnants. You can watch the recorded lecture above.
